The "lobster sliders" had too little lobster and too little flavor. The chicken in the chicken fried rice was breaded and deep fried, making it dryer than sawdust with a similar flavor (who puts chicken nuggets in fried rice anyway.) The lobster fried rice was much better and the lobster tasted fresh and sweet, but the lobster spring rolls were overdone, and flavorless. The sushi was still fresh and tasty, but the previously wonderful fish (black bass) was ruined by overcooking, and way too much salt in the sauce. Despite wonderful service, our visit this past Saturday was a severe disappointment. We have done several times and had enjoyed most of the things we ordered, even if the service was bit slow. The stone walls and floor reflect the unrelenting beat of club music, so you have to like,or at least endure, a noisy backdrop. Nectar is a hip good looking place that attracts a young wealthy crowd. We will give Nectar another try someday, but not soon. We're willing to give the benefit of the doubt and would recommend Nectar, but cautiously. The dining room is attractive, though noisy, and the food tasty. The problem was not with the bus staff, but with our server - she never smiled and really seemed to be completely tuned out and disinterested. Side items that were supposed to accompany our entrees were never brought, no one ever checked in with us after the meal arrived to see if all was well, and re-fills on drinks/coffee were also never offered. Our server was unfriendly, disinterested, and unattentive. Unfortunately, while the food remains pretty good, the service left a great deal to be desired. Last night we decided to go to Nectar again for a birthday celebration. On all previous visits, we had very good food (albeit pricey) and excellent, attentive, friendly service. We have been to Nectar several times over the last few years. The dining room's inviting ambiance of fiery orange glows and warm, lemon yellow and chocolate brown banquettes delivers a kindred spirit to Nectar's distinctive menu.
